Super Bowl School Update (02-05-2021)
Mr. O. here. I think we are all looking forward to Sunday, ok, maybe not everyone. I have three updates to share.
This week was National Counseling recognition week. Today we had over 400 students join a zoom meeting where we clapped it up for our counseling team. Many know I have been in education and at the high school level for many years. UCHS has the best team of high school counselors in the district. If you get a chance, please send them a quick note recognizing their good work!
We are getting ready to start up our Flex Time Math Academy Program for students in a week or so. At this time, we are seeking to see if we can’t get a few of our older Centurions willing to help our younger Cents with their math understanding (tutoring). If any student has a strong background in math, and can lend a hand on either Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays, staff member Will Clifford would like to connect with you. Please complete this survey if you think you can help.
Math Academy Interest
Last, next week our counselors will be meeting with 9th grade students and their parents regarding course selection for the 2021-22 school year. Meetings with students will take place during afternoon flex time. This will be for Tuesday, February 9th and Wednesday, February 10th. Please see below for the time students should zoom in to meet with their counselor according to their last name. On Wednesday evening, at 5:30 pm, the counseling team will meet with the parents of 9th graders to also go over course selections. During the week of February 16 through 18, counselors will meet individually with 9th grade students.
