School Update (01-04-2021)
Good evening Centurions. Welcome to 2021! Our hopes and prayers are for a better year ahead.
As we work our way towards the end of the first semester, we have a few items to get out to you this week if your student is an eleventh grader. The rest of this message is for juniors- Class of 2022.
Later in January, district high schools are beginning the planning process for allowing all juniors the opportunity to take the (free) PSAT. The PSAT is a practice scholastic aptitude test as well as an opportunity to score high enough to be identified as a national merit scholar. With this distinction, students are eligible for special recognition and potential scholarships. The district wants us to plan to allow our 11th graders on campus to take this four hour exam. This opportunity is only open to 11th graders. The day planned is Tuesday, January 26th, from 8am to 12 pm. Over the coming weeks, we will be planning for this on-campus opportunity for students. Please know we plan to adhere to all public health guidelines, at the same time realize the opportunity could be altered if we can’t secure enough staff to proctor the exams in-person.
In helping us start the planning, we need to know the names of juniors and how many to plan on being on campus for PSAT testing day. Please complete the following survey link if you want to pursue this opportunity for your junior.

Also for juniors, we will start scheduling classes for next year. Counselors will meet with students on a first-come-first-serve basis during flex times this week. We will also have a meeting for parents of eleventh graders on Thursday, January 7th, at 5:30 pm. See below:
