Good Evening UC Families,
This is Vice Principal Jo McGlin reminding you that all students are required to be up to date on their immunizations in order to fully participate in school, whether online or in-person. Governor Newsom and the California Public Health Department have been clear that children should continue receiving their immunizations at the appropriate time, especially given the massive public health challenges we are already facing as a state.
These requirements are contained in the State Education Code. More information may be found at www.shotsforschool.org
San Diego Unified believes good health is an equity issue, and we work closely with many providers to ensure all students get the care they need. If you are having difficulty obtaining immunizations, please contact your school nurse or call 211 for local resources.
If you have individual concerns related to your child’s unique medical condition, please contact your school nurse or email Immunizations@sandi.net .
The CDC continues to recommend childhood vaccinations during the pandemic: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/parents/visit/vaccination-during-COVID-19.html#:~:text=While%20families%20followed%20public%20health,COVID%2D19%20outbreak.
Thank you for all you do to help our students thrive during this difficult time.
