Third Day of School Update (08-31-2020)
UCHS Students and Parents,
We hope our students were able to connect with their teachers the last three days. For Thursday and Friday of this week, students are not meeting with their teachers but should be working in their projects and activities provided by the district. Students will have their first day of classes on Tuesday, September 8th, starting at 8:50 am.
As a reminder, we will have a textbook pick up and exchange on Thursday, September 3rd, from 7:30 am to 9:00 am and from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. We will do the same for Friday, September 4th at the same times. The location will be at the 400 hallway facing the student parking lot.
In looking at the numbers triangulating the attendance the last three days, and looking at who has picked up books, and seeing who has registered, it looks like we have connected with 1700 of our 1760 students. Please know office staff is calling to track down and find out whether students have moved or whether they need support getting a device and set up for schooling. I am grateful to all who have been working so hard to get us to this point. Last spring we were in educational crisis mode adapting to our new environment. This fall our teachers are committed to making sure we maximize the education of our students. We see it as an opportunity to expand the way we engage students and prepare them for 21st century learning.
Last, at this point 1400 of or 1760 students have completed the paperwork for registration. We need all 1760 to complete this process. Please go to the Registration Site and get this done. Have a great night, Mr. O.
